Art in Action visit
Design Factory Thrive
Join us for an inspiring research and development day trip to Art in Action, taking place at Waterperry House & Gardens in Oxfordshire. Art in Action welcomes approximately 25,000 people over four days. Visitors come to learn, buy and enjoy the exhibitions, classes and performances of 400 demonstrating artists, designer makers, teachers, musicians and performers. Disciplines represented include painting, sculpture, glass, woodwork, textiles, ceramics, metalwork and jewellery. The coach will leave the NCCD at 7am with pick up points in Newark and Leicester en route. It will leave Waterperry at 6pm.
Cost includes coach travel and one day entry ticket (worth £15). Cost: DF members – £20, non-DF members - £25

This workshop takes place at Bishop Grosseteste University, Lincoln Google+ launched on the 28th June 2011 as has quickly become the second largest social network behind Facebook. With seamless integration into other Google products such as GMail, Google Calendar, Google Analytics and especially Google Search it is becoming a must know for individuals and businesses alike. People searching for "things" on the internet often use YouTube as their first point of search. So much so that YouTube is actually the second largest search site behind Google. Learn how both of these platforms can be used to promote your business and grow your online community, taking advantage of simple tips from Zaddle Internet Marketing, and making the most out of many features available in Google+. This workshop takes place at the Portfolio Innovation Centre, Northampton This popular workshop will explore different ways of planning ahead, and will help you decide whether a formal business plan is right for you, or whether a more creative and flexible approach to planning will work best. You will get a workpack which will help you devise a personal approach to planning that really suits you and your creative practice. The workshop is designed for people at all career stages – the thinking and discussion will work for you regardless of whether you are a start up or a mature business. You will be encouraged to think both strategically and tactically – where do you want to be in 3-5 years – and what actions do you need to start taking now in order to get there? You will come away with a much clearer idea of where you are heading, a personal action plan with clear goals and milestones, and a visual timeline. Facilitator: Pete Mosley
