Owen Quinlan
Owen Quinlan's solo exhibition continues our Window Space examination of emerging ceramic talent bringing together a large and diverse collection of objects and artifacts, which includes a series of brand new works produced for The National Centre for Craft & Design.
Working primarily in clay, Quinlan creates stoneware artworks that blur the boundaries between craft, conceptual art and geology. Quinlan's artwork has an underlying connection with both the history of our environment and our place within it.
The exhibition is divided into two distinct bodies of work; Tremorfa Coastline which can be found between the first and second floors and his most recent undertaking Environment to Object which runs from the second floor and culminates with a large wall display at the very top of our building.
Owen Quinlan graduated with a MA in Ceramics from UWIC College of Art, Cardiff in 2011. Since then he has exhibited in Croatia; Galway, Ireland (where he lives and works) and most recently in Seattle, USA.
